Dena Griffith
"I believe that each student and teacher deserve someone to speak for them and listen to them."
I'm running for
District 4 Gilchrist County School Board
My husband of 31 years and I have been residents of Gilchrist County for 40 years. I am a product of Gilchrist County schools, having graduated from Bell High School in 1992. All four of our children graduated from this district and pursued higher education. Some have even returned; our daughter now teaches at Bell Elementary as a 1st grade teacher and our daughter-in-law teaches at Trenton High School.
Priority Issues
As a parent of two students with 504 plans I know how important it is to stay involved and have open communication between parents and schools while keeping students and teachers safe.
I’m committed to advocating for:
Incentives
Teacher incentives to bring more qualified teachers to the area.
ESE Classrooms
Enhancements to ESE classrooms and playgrounds.
Safety
Maintaining a safe campus while having more parent involvement.
Working Together
Work together to create new disciplinary actions.
Vision & Beliefs
We have great teachers, students, staff, schools, and parents in our county, and I look forward to representing each one as I work together with the School Board to make our schools even better.
Community Involvement
In my roles as an employee and parent, I know firsthand the challenges our students and teachers face in our education system.

What others say about Dena Griffith...
"Dena worked at Bell Elementary School as a volunteer and substitute for many years. She was always willing to help teachers and students."
Rick Reed
"I worked with Dena in many different directions within the school. First, as a band parent. I learned the in and out of band life. I have seen kids seek her out for guidance. Her and her family have volunteered in every way they can in band life. She held president chair and is still seek after when it comes to running things for the band. As a bus driver of the school, she had seen our struggle with kids and administration . She listens when we voice our concerns."
Shannon Wilson
"I fully endorse Dena Griffith as District 4 School Board member. I have known Dena over 20 years, I first met her when her oldest son joined the Bell Band in 6th grade. She had already been a very active parent in the BES PTO. Once involved in band she was one of those parents that was dependable for what ever was needed for any of the students, even at last minute. She stepped up to run the basketball concession stand with the proceeds going to the band, there she worked closely with students and parents alike. She never missed a performance of the band, nor a chance to feed them when the opportunity arose. During the years she was also involved in the BHS PTO, in between raising 4 kids of her own and substitute teaching as needed. This means she has been a hands on parent working with many students over the last 20 years I have known her." - 2009-2010 Purple Powerhouse Band Booster President

I personally worked with Dena for many years, as a band parent and other school related endeavors. I observed her as she worked tirelessly and went above and beyond to be sure that ALL STUDENTS were accommodated and provided with all their needs." Sincerely,
